Primary renter must be at least 21 years of age. Guests may be asked to present their government issued IDs upon arrival or anytime during their stay. Do not rent this unit for another party. The primary renter must be staying in the unit.

About the Vacation Rental Unit:

Enjoy a stay that pairs the spacious Main House with the privacy of the Coy Dunson apartment, both located at the historic Childress House. This combined reservation includes a four-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath residence accommodating seven guests and a separate one-bedroom, one-bath apartment accommodating four guests. Together, the two spaces offer five bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, and sleeping arrangements for up to 11 guests.

Built in 1847, the Childress House was once owned by Major John Childress, brother of First Lady Sarah Childress Polk, wife of President James K. Polk. Sarah Polk was known to visit the home. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the property carries nearly 180 years of local history. Portions of the home were converted into apartments during the 1930s, continuing its long residential story.

The Main House uses the home’s front entrance, while the Coy Dunson apartment is accessed through a separate side entrance. Detailed arrival and entry instructions for both accommodations will be provided before your stay.

This pairing works well for families and friends who want to stay close while enjoying some separation during their visit. The Main House offers room for the larger portion of your group, while the Coy Dunson apartment provides its own bedroom, bathroom, and living area. Plan a day of sightseeing together, explore downtown restaurants, or spend time visiting MTSU before returning to your respective accommodations. With two king beds, two queen beds, a twin daybed, and a queen pullout sofa across the reservation, your group has several options for sleeping arrangements. Both accommodations retain their own entrances, so please review the arrival instructions for each before check-in.

Parking: 

Driveway parking is available beside the house, with additional parking on the rear pad within the gated area. Overflow street parking is allowed when necessary. Please fully utilize the available on-property parking before parking on the street. Detailed parking instructions will be provided before arrival.
